Thank you so much for visiting our website!
It was during the summer of 2013, when Tiffany first took a needle felting class, learning the basics and making some simple pieces. She really enjoyed the endless possibilities for being creative that felting provides, and so continued to make more pieces at home. During that summer, she made a little replica of herself and Ali as a gift, he was delighted and they are still in pride of place at home now! It was at this point that Sweet Pea Dolls first started in September 2013!
Inspired by a love of Japanese and Korean culture, both Tiffany and Ali continued creating handmade dolls and accessories, and began their Etsy shop.
In early 2015, we started to think, wouldn’t it be great if we can help inspire others to explore their creativity with needle felting, and we started to stock the basic materials such as merino wool roving, felting needles, foam pads etc. This was a real thrill for us, as we embarked on becoming a retail craft store.
It is an ideal opportunity for us to combine our passions for both handmade crafts and retailing. Foremost in our philosophy and what we hope to convey through our business are 3 key things:
1) Our care for our amazing customers
2) Providing the finest quality products
3) Providing an efficient and helpful service
Since then we have increased our range, and in Dec 2016, we first brought in Hamanaka products from Japan. This was really exciting for us! From our time spent in Hong Kong and Japan, we knew all about the high quality of Hamanaka products, and we wanted to help bring those to the market here in the UK!
During a business trip to Kyoto in February 2017, we visited Hamanaka headquarters and had some great talks on sharing ideas and working closely to introduce their brand in the UK! We are very proud to become the first Hamanaka Ambassador and look forward to building on our success together!
Since then, with the support of our incredible customers, and amazing suppliers, Sweet Pea Dolls has continued to grow and move into new craft areas such as Animal Pom Poms, UV-Resin crafts, Diamond Painting and more, again sourcing the finest quality products from Japan and worldwide including brands such as Padico, Trikotri and Wizardi!
Whether you are looking for top quality materials for your own projects, commissions, or wonderfully unique gifts for friends and family, we have products to suit all ages and abilities.
This year, we have also begun providing felting and resin workshops in our local area including at the fabulous Mayflower Arts and Crafts in Beccles, and stunning NU Furnishings and Fabrics in Norwich. Details of these can be found from the link in the top menu.
We are so excited about continuing our story into the future and trying to implement all the exciting plans we have in our minds. We very much hope you'll enjoy our journey with us and we look forward to helping you all as much as we possibly can!
